The exhibition reviews large-format photographs by Timothy Greenfield-Sanders with faces from Latinos who have deeply influenced different areas of American culture, in an effort to "show what it means to be Latino in the XXI century".

"This is a difficult time for Latinos in the United States. The population has increased and there is an attack against them," said Greenfield-Sanders, who has decided to show "Latino leaders" in powerful portraits as a way to overcome prejudice that exist over this community.

There is a balance in the selection between men and women, professions and nationalities, although those dedicated to show business are better known outside the United States like Longoria, known for his work on the tv show "Desperate Housewives" or the musical producer: the Cuban Pitbull.

However, among the pictures that can be seen until next December 11 at the Brooklyn Museum, there is space for other celebrities in the U.S., like the first Hispanic Supreme Court judge, Sonia Sotomayor, the New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez or Mexican origin NASA astronaut, José Moreno Hernández.

The images were taken with an analog camera, but digitally printed in color and accompanied by a documentary, also directed by Greenfield-Sanders, who conceived the work as an extension of "The Black list", a 2008 project focused on famous African Americans.

"In my work I like to look at minority groups," said the photographer, who also wrote a similar work on pornographic actors oriented to overcome stereotypes, just like "The Black List" and "The Latino List".
